So I visited HERE and just watched the video (specifically the Q&A from the feral at 28:50) and the response from the crowd (and the Dev.) just sickened me.
Did I miss when Feral druids became Uber in PvP? Ferals in PvP won’t be able to put up a rip and turtle in bear and just watch you bleed to death anymore in MoP, That’s why we created the extra tree to split bear and cat talents out. Audience cheers? Really? WTF? I don’t remember Feral PvP ever being easy. I remember it being tolerable with ArP though still a pain in the arse as I was always expected to do things like cyclone and heal which fundamentally as a feral sucked. Even then they killed ArP. They took away our ability to shift out of snares. They took away the nice vial trinket proc (O.K., that was OP for more than just ferals). But when the hell was feral PvP put up a rip, go bear, I win? WTF? What crappy ass players are these ferals going up against?
Honestly, I don’t really have a strong stance for either keeping BearCat or losing BearCat. But tying that change due to PvP was just a WTF moment for me. For PvE I don’t this change is a big deal because most ferals are just going to dual spec into bear tank and kitty dps since at endgame collecting caster and physical DPS sets is just too much a pain in the arse. That and when a tank doesn’t show usually the first glance comes our way as a sub. All BearCat was good for in PvE was really the oh crap moments and in good guilds these are few and far between.
Maybe that is what I should be doing before MoP releases. Griefing people in arena with a rip, shift bear, win. Yeah, that’s the ticket.
Brutal, just brutal.
The DPS race on this one is so tight we have continually just missed it over and over from either simple mistakes and people dying and disconnects. Basically the only way we could get it down was just to have one death and a fast battle rez…. and don’t get me started about how I can’t use shred… seriously, WTF?
I can shred to my hearts content on Deathwing without a positional requirement but not on this fight. GG Blizzard, gimp ferals on the first DPS check in Heroics in DS, we love you too. Yes, I know rogues got shortchanged as well but they get a legendary so it’s a wash.
Anyway, basically as a feral to maximize DPS for this fight you switch Berserk glyph for mangle glyph to boost mangle damage. I have tried both reforging to haste, hit, expertise (Ultraxion doesn’t parry so just enough expertise to avoid dodges) and also to mastery, crit, hit… and so on and so forth, very little change… about none really.
So basically do your best to minimize time out of the Twilight but without cutting it so close you die. Try to max your bleed uptimes which shouldn’t be too tough either. Basically with very little Heroic gear I consistently put out about 35K DPS.
This week we finally start working on Yor’sahj the Unsleeping Heroic. Should be fun.
So Blizzard has announced that they will be selling (For Real Monies) a pet that is not Bound. You will be able to sell it on the AH. So people will be able to buy the pet for real money and then turn around in game and sell it for gold if they like.
Obviously this is not a perfect or guaranteed $ to Gold conversion as no one knows what the value of the pet will be in Gold or what the demand for it will be. I am guessing though it won’t take long to find out and the conversion will begin.
I really don’t know how I feel about this, but in a sense it feels a little dirty.
Sorry so long since last post.
Since last I posted…
- Ragnaros is down!
- Completed all new Firelands dailies and received my new mount in the mail.
- Blizz nerfed Unheeded Warning. I would be a lot less upset by this had I not given up Essence of the Cyclone to a fellow raider. So now I am rocking Ricket’s Magnetic Fireball.
- I have now killed Majordomo 4 times, still no staff.
- I am running 2T11 and 2T12. Supposedly this is the thing to do until 4T12
- I purchased Ranseur of Hatred.
It seems like the Summer Blues continue to prevail. I switched guilds because my 10 man team from our new startup from the remnants of Aetherial Circle (With Feeling) stopped raiding. I started running with another 10 man in the guild but they wanted to move to a guild with more activity, raiders, and people running rated BG’s. I have since moved my main to Envy with Team Synergy and we have been pretty successful thus far, especially with the attendance problems summer brings and me fail tanking most nights.
I am pretty hard on myself when bearing it up but I don’t feel that tanking has gotten natural yet. I have tanked every fight in Firelands so I do plan to do a tips and tricks post for both Feral Cats and Bears very soon.
I am pretty ticked that the final fight of the tier is so Kitty unfriendly. They either need to stop designing fights where it is impossible or near impossible to attack from behind or change the positional requirements of shred. Having to waste time finding the sweet spot on Majordomo in scorpion form is downright frustrating as well.
Don’t get me wrong, I am excited about new content, quests, gear, etc.
I wish I was more excited about the buff to Kitty damage.
Why am I not you ask?
Well, rumor has it Firelands raiding is still as melee unfriendly as the current raiding content. (Note, I still only believe this to be the case for Heroic T11 raiding and assuming it will be the same for T12, or worse)
When your 10 man raiding team is expecting you to be boomkin going forward… how excited can you get about feral DPS?
It’s sad really, but I don’t think I am alone in wondering where blizzard went wrong in the “bring the player. not the class” mentality.
As a druid I am fortunate to have the option to play a caster for an expansion. But what of warriors, rogues, and pally’s that want to DPS? Is it no coincidence rogues seem less and less plentiful?
I am still excited and I look forward to playing more boomkin unless needed for some OT/DPS duties on specific fights… but I would have preferred it to be the other way around where going boomkin would be the exception and not the rule.
Thoughts anyone? My guess is people raiding 25’s have less of an issue. We are finding it harder and harder to get the people for a 25 man run. Either through disinterest, scheduling, or just lack of players at any given time.
I really prefer the 10 man format, but it does seem the tuning is just brutal and is possibly hurting the ideology of playing with friends regardless of class.
Oh well, I will continue to trudge on hoping we can at least keep the numbers for one or two 10 man teams in our guild.
